Your Beginners Guide To The World of Formula 1 Motor Racing Tracks

Monday, June 30th, 2008

A typical F1 track by & large includes a portion of straight road on which the starting lines are situated. The pit lane, where the F1 drivers stop for refuelling and tyres during the Formula 1 race, & where the teams operate on the Formula 1 cars before the Formula One race, is customarily to be found in parallel to the starting lines. The blueprint of the other parts of the track differs greatly, even though in a large number of instances the track is designed in a clockwise way. Those couple of race circuits that run anti-clockwise (C181& as a result have on the whole left-handed corners) could cause Formula One drivers neck problems due to the vast amount of lateral forces produced by Formula One cars pulling their heads in the reverse direction to normal. For all the latest Formula 1 Racing News go to F1Tribute.com today.

Most of the circuits currently in use are specially created for racing days. The present street tracks are the Circuit de Monaco and Melbourne, though grand prix in other urban cities come & go (For Example, Las Vegas and Detroit) & plans for such circuits are often discussed ? recently London & Beirut. Quite a few other race circuits are also entirely or partly laid out on normal roads, for example Spa-Francorchamps. The beauty and status of the Monte Carlo grand prix are the major cause why the track is still in use even today, since it’s believed not to meet the important safety rules compulsory on other race tracks. Three-time F1 World champion Nelson Piquet notably depicted racing in Monaco as “like riding a bicycle in your living room”.

Real Estate Market in the Med

Monday, June 30th, 2008

There were some major changes in the property prices over the past month in the south of Turkey. The prices for summer houses in Antalya, Alanya, Kas, Kalkan and Kemer has decreased by up to thirty five percent in comaprison to the previous year. Many real estate professionals see this as an excellent time to buy properties both in Ankara, Istanbul and in the Med part of Turkey. Many now consider the property market in the country a buyer’s market. Mark Realik, the president of the Realtors Association in Fethiye has said “The demand from Europeans has decreased over the past year due to the mortgage crisis and this affected the real estate prices in Turkey. Errors committed by a number of developers and some real estate industry professionals have resulted in potential buyers focusing their attention to nearby places such as Cyprus and other parts of Europe like Spain.” With the increase in demand from foreigners, the number of property sales in these parts of the country has come to a stop. Still, the property market in Turkey is considered an ideal place for real estate investments compared to other markets in the region.

Realik believes that buyers that can take advantage of these prices have a much higher chance of return on their investments than any other opportunity present including the high performance stocks in the cuountry. The real estate market is expected to recover after the effects of the global crisis smoothen and property investments in these regions will offer higher capital gain opportunities higher than any other location in the country.

According to Realik, there was substantial demand from foreigners until 2005 and 2006. A summer house in Bordrum that is currently offered for 100,000 euros used to be able to attract buyers who were willing to pay as much as 135,000 euros only three years ago. Land and plot prices also depreciated by at least twenty-two percent over the same period of time.

Realik estimates that there is a oversupply of 6,220 houses only in Mugla. While the total number of summer houses sold to foreigners in Mugla over 2006 was around 1,500 units, the number of houses sold in 2007 decreased to around 510 units. This is now considered an ideal period for buyers to invest in properties in Istanbul and in the south of Turkey.

Alternative Treatments For Headaches And Migraines

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

There are now many alternative and natural treatments to help people who suffer from headaches and migraines. In this article, I write about these type of remedies and also recommend the types of food people should avoid if they are always suffering from headaches and migraines.

There are many causes of headaches including:

Excessive amounts of alcohol

Over eating

An incorrect posture

Too much stress

Problems with teeth

Problems with a person eyes

It is important that we learn to deal with stress and to become more care-free. A lot of people react to stressful situations by turning to alcohol. This can only add to their problems and can lead to even more headaches.

If the person drinks to excess they may wake up with a hangover. If this happens to you I would advise you to drink plenty of water as you are likely to be dehydrated. Vitamin C is also useful to remove the alcohol quicker from your body.

If you are unable to live a stress-free life, it may be worth looking at alternative treatments. These are the types of natural therapy I would advise:

Osteopathy

Acupuncture

Homeopathy

Yoga

Tai Chi

The Alexander Technique

There are also certain foods and drinks which are a must to avoid for people who have regular headaches. These include:

Citrus fruits such as oranges and grapefruit

Chocolate

Cheese

Alcohol

Migraines

Headaches are annoying enough, however migraines can be severely painful. I have suffered with migraines for a number of years and have now studied the subject seeking a cure. I am determined to not have to live my life, having these migraines regularly throughout the year, as the pain is unbearable. Maybe I am a bit of a wimp, but they really do cause me a lot of grief.

There are a number of reasons or causes for migraines. These include bright lights, certain foods or loud noises. I have to say that I think my own migraines are caused by stress and anxiety. I have always been a worrier and have suffered with a low self-esteem for most of my life. There are many reasons for this lack of confidence, which I will not bore you with at this stage.

I decided that I needed to deal with my stress as well as learning about how to eradicate the migraines.

I am now able to relax and have accepted that no one person is perfect. I realise that I will make mistakes and as long as I learn from them, then that is OK. Worrying does not help me in any case therefore I have to stop doing it.

I have also used alternative health therapies to help me to reduce my stress including:

Herbal remedies

Meditation

Yoga

Tai Chi

I still have headaches as I have to admit that I do like to have a few beers around once a week. I have not however had a migraine for around nine months now. I am a lot happier in life and have learnt how to manage my levels of stress. I regularly meditate and use other natural remedies as mentioned above. This is what has helped me and I hope it helps you to.

Travel Ireland: Castle Diaries

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

After a raucous night in a Belfast pub, Alli and I had just finished our breakfast when we spotted our new friend Billy. We had recently met the charismatic American on a ferry crossing from Scotland to Northern Ireland, and had shared quite a few songs and drinks into the wee hours of the morning.

Before leaving the hostel, Billy said ” if you’re near Corofin two weeks from now, you should stop by for my castle party.” Our interest was peaked.

He proceeded to tell us that his family owned a castle, and he had been passing the word to fellow travelers, hoping for a medieval style weekend gathering. We thanked him for the invite, not quite believing the story, and said we’d try to make it. Alli and I both thought this offer was too good to be true. We didn’t want to be skeptical, but how many people actually owned a castle? We wondered if ‘King’ Billy was a little off his throne.

When two weeks had almost passed, we discussed trying to find the castle. We only had a general idea of where it was supposed to be, and really didn’t know our host that well. In the end, thoughts of bunking in a five hundred year old Irish castle inspired our romantic sides and quashed any practical objections.

Transport from the small town of Dingle wasn’t convenient to our end destination, so we decided to hitchhike. We walked a few miles before a tiny little car finally screeched to a halt. We approached the car with sweet smiles on our faces, which quickly disappeared when faced with the screeching elderly woman in the drivers seat.

She yelled at us in a thick Irish accent, ” get in, get in, I’m late fer a funeral. If yar not in this minute I’m off. I only picked ya up cause ya were a couple of garls”

We frantically stuffed our oversized backpacks through the tiny opening to the backseat and flung ourselves in on top of them. She berated us on the dangers of hitchhiking the entire drive, and stopped only long enough so we could throw ourselves out of the car in Lisdoonvarna. The little town is famous for its annual matchmaking festival.

Finally it Corofin, we popped into the nearest pub to ask for directions. We asked the bartender, a little sheepishly, if there was a castle nearby and how we could find it. Without a moment’s hesitation, the man told us it was a little less than a mile down the road, and said we should be able to find it easily.

Excited, we started off and after we turned the corner at the end of the first road, we saw a large stone tower looming in the distance. Speechless, we picked up speed and arrived at the gate. With the smell of peat wafting in the air and a stone tower rising out of the craggy ground we kept looking at each other in disbelief. At that moment Billy arrived with more guests.

After a jovial welcome, we entered the castle through a huge wooden door that opened with a booming creak. Billy’s uncle, an architect from the States, had restored the castle, and from our perspective had done a wonderful job. The tower was almost 100 feet high, could sleep ten comfortably and had three stone bathrooms, with full showers. The bedrooms ranged from large suites to smaller more modest rooms. Our bedroom was basic, but filled with charming antiques. The windows were narrow slits that exploited the sun and moonlight in exquisite ways. The great hall on the ground floor had a huge fireplace you could stand in, a long wooden dining table and modern kitchen that retained its historic feel.

Throughout the day more guests arrived, and eventually there were ten of us representing six different countries. The energy of the impromptu gathering in such an exceptional setting was electric and our first night was truly surreal.

Our host, besides having access to a 15th century Gaelic castle, was also a trained chef. Billy prepared a hearty Irish lamb stew and we all sat down to a table adorned with heaps of fruit, bread, cheese, and of course jugs of wine. With candles blazing we toasted our good fortune and our host ‘King’ Billy. The energy never waned and everyone stayed up late, getting to know each other. More candles were lit to guide us back to our bedrooms, not necessary, but helped to keep the atmosphere intact.

The next few days our motley fellowship fell into a routine. By day we would go fishing, hiking, or sit and read by the fire. By night more feasting and revelry. The food always seemed better than the last meal and the chemistry between the guests continued to mix well. After about 4 days the decadent weekend came to a close, and we said good-bye to each other and the ancient Gaelic tower.
Our short transformation from budget travelers to royal princesses was more than memorable. The spontaneous generosity and camaraderie of human spirit, combined with such an impressive piece of history, was one of the most unexpected gifts I have ever received from travel.

Highlights of County Clare

Ballyporty Castle: Is located in County Clare, Ireland. It is no longer a private residence and can be rented by groups or individuals. You can follow this link for photographs and more information about booking a truly unique vacation. http://www.ballyportry.ie/

Getting There: Once you arrive in Ireland, the train system isn’t as convenient as in the rest of Europe. If possible, rent a car to allow ease of access to all the interesting nooks and crannies found all over the Emerald Isle. The bus system is reliable and easy to use, but doesn’t give you the same freedom to explore.

Cliffs of Moher and Doolin: These dramatic seaside cliffs offer a spectacular view of the Irish coastline. If feeling particularly athletic, you can use the small town of Doolan as a base and hike to the cliffs. Doolan is famous for great traditional music and cozy pubs. It’s the perfect place to unwind after touring the countryside.

Best B & B: Dalys House: If a castle is just too costly, try this lovely B & B. Perfectly situated to explore county Clare, only 5 minutes away from the Aran Islands ferry. There is a lovely breakfast room that overlooks the sea. The best part is the cost, at only 32 Euros or 41 US per person

Who Is Our Daddy? George Steinbrenner, that’s Who

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

Thank goodness the Yankees have him.

Big Daddy, George Steinbrenner, is a Yankee fan’s delight. As a Yankee fan I love that so many other fans hate what George has done and continues to do. He gets the players that he needs. He pushes forward to get another championship for his Yankees. I can visualize George sitting in his office making calls to see if the superstar that he so highly touts is close to signing a Yankee contract.

When the Yankees have been in need of a pitcher they get Roger Clemens, or Mike Mussina, or Catfish Hunter, or Randy Johnson. Some of the top pitchers in the game. If it’s a slugger they need George brings the best to New York. Reggie Jackson, Dave Winfield, Gary Sheffield, or Alex Rodriguez will don the Yankee pinstripes. Having the best for the Yankees and their fans makes all the difference. We know as fans that our team is doing whatever it can to bring in a championship. And when all is said and done – what more can we ask for?

George is relentless. He wants another World Series ring for the Bronx Bombers. Six is not enough for him. Arriving at the playoffs 14 times is not the name of this game. Winning the World Series is the only game in town. I have to admire that kind of pursuit. I have always felt funny when I see a player or an owner in a TV interview rejoice when his team comes in second. Something feels off. Second place is not a prize worth having At least not with George.

I love his spirit. I love his attitude about winning. I love winning it all in the fall. Has there been another owner in any sport, in the last 25 years that has operated with the same intensity that George has had? In any sport? I think not.

Say what you will about the big guy. He is money hungry, he has an ego problem, he stops at nothing, he plays unfair. I do not think he cares. what others are saying He has a cause and a mission. Bring championships to New York.

So I salute you George Steinbrenner, principal owner of my New York Yankees. Thanks for taking the team on your back and going for it all the time. While I may not agree with all your tactics I am fascinated with your ongoing will to win.
Imagine what it must have been like playing dominoes, or marbles or any other game with George when he was a kid. Do you think he had to win?

If Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio, or Yogi Berra were playing on another team other than the Yankees and became available through free agency, do you think George would try and get him? What do you think?

Weight Loss Myths Exposed

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

As a weight loss coach I speak will people regularly about their view and beliefs surrounding food and nutrition. It probably won’t come as a surprise to hear there is a great deal of confusion around nutrition. In fact, many people reading this article will have only a scant idea about the different food types and what our body actually needs to keep healthy.

One of the simplest systems I’ve encountered is this. If the food tastes good, then it has to be ‘bad’ for you! And then there’s its counterpart, “If the food tastes ‘bad’ then it must be ‘good’ for you”. You may identify with these views, or some closely related version! Nutrition for some has been reduced to a concept of ‘good’ and ‘bad’ with little else.

Some common weight loss myths that people believe – which aren’t true!

Myth #1: Cutting down on portion size is the best way to lose weight.
Not on its own. If you attempt to lose weight by just eating less, you are likely to gain the weight back. Lasting results will come from changing the types of foods you eat, not just the amounts.

Myth #2: Just cut out fat and you’ll lose weight.
This approach to weight loss, popular in the 80s, simply doesn’t work for most people. Even if a food is labeled “fat-free,” it can still be high in calories from sugar and hidden carbs. Effective weight loss comes from being mindful of your total calorie consumption as well as your fat intake.

Myth #3: Cutting calories causes your body to go into starvation mode and slows weight loss.
This is untrue. Your body’s resting metabolic rate can vary by about 15%. Nevertheless, eating too few calories and an inadequate amount of protein can make you lose precious lean muscle mass, which will eventually slow metabolism, for the long term. Ideally, stick to the calorie and protein amounts that are right for your body with the Herbalife program.

Myth #4: High-protein diets cause ketosis, which reduces hunger.
Ketosis occurs when fat, instead of carbohydrate, is used as an energy source during a high-protein diet. Ketone bodies are produced, which give your breath a bad “fruity” odor. Ketone bodies do not reduce appetite; but, eating sufficient protein for your body needs can help reduce hunger and support weight loss.

Myth #5: Exercise alone can help you lose weight.
While exercise is an important component of a healthy weight-loss program, it is not a great way to lose weight on its own. Exercising for even an hour at a time burns only a moderate amount of calories. Combining exercise with calorie reduction and a healthy eating plan is the most effective way to lose weight and keep it off.

One of the most healthful and helpful steps you can take to improve your health and that of your family’s is to learn about nutrition. The principles are easy to understand and armed with the correct information, it’s possible to make an improvement to your health.

Laptop Demand Is Enormous

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

Do all of us really require a laptop? It sure looks that way because demand is soaring. Taiwan, which is the chief manufacturing country of laptop computers is having trouble with the demand at present. Laptops have just been an amazing market to check up on. There has been no let up on shipments. New products are hitting the shelves all the time that litterally create new niches in the laptop computer market.

I’ve witnessed a lot of gaming notebooks being released recently. These notebooks are also increasing in value because of the tough competition faced from low priced laptops. For those who require mobility, the performance notebooks provide in relation to gaming shouldn’t be frowned upon much longer as power is better. With the new found performance also came along more thinner designs. With that said gaming laptops should never be cosidered in the same category as their desktop sibblings. There will be a difference and the argument here is that its not a enormous factor for the masses. I do not give it too long before we see ultra mobile gaming notebooks on the market.

Now and then the average mass market notebooks just are not adequate for what we require them for so custom laptops will forever be here. The concept of getting third party parts entices some consumers in my opinion. By being able to negate some additional things from the spec you can really save money on components you will not use. The majority of laptop computers are designed for the normal consumer which means you may not find what you’re looking for. You get around this by aquiring a laptop built to . I think you also get improved customer service when buying a custom laptop. The fact that there is choice and rivals makes its very viable.

Exciting is a word that comes to mind when thinking of the next rang of notebook computers. Basic ultra portables are the in thing. I think the idea for such a product came from the requirements of the third world. If anybody manufacturers a laptop that has a big screen but is also weightless at a mass market price point I think it could be a huge success. I’m sure some brands are proactively laboring on such activities. The way the market is evolving I predict gaming notebooks will become smaller. Laptop computers come out every few months and these low priced portables most certainly made a number of manufactures change their ideas.

Loving Your Spouse With Wisdom

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

There are two ways we can love our spouse. We can love under our own understanding of what we think love is, or we can love the way God has directed us to love. I think we all know how to love, but doing it is a whole different matter.

What is the difference between the two? The first way of loving is a condition and learned way to love, which is selfish and self-seeking. We don’t know we are behaving selfishly because we do not know any other way to love.

The second way of loving is what comes naturally because we have loved and accepted God into our lives first. The reason it’s so natural is because we have recognized and utilized the spiritual Christ in our lives, which makes loving a natural process of who we are.

It is very difficult to love another if we are only thinking about ourselves. Some examples of how we love our spouse selfishly are, committing adultery, being disrespectful, using controlling behavior, using negative feelings, becoming resentful, becoming ensnared in an addiction, and the list goes on.

False teachings on marriage and loose morals in society have caused many couples to become bitter and apprehensive when loving one another. Society has lost the value of what real love is and it has tainted couples into sinful behavior. As we all know sin dampens our love for God by turning our focus on ourselves. You cannot truly love your spouse if you only think of yourself.

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church without stain, or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In the same way husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. Ephesians 5:25-28

1. A Husband should be willing to sacrifice everything for his wife just as Jesus Christ sacrificed everything for us. Do you think a husband who loves God will be able to make his wife the most important aspect of his life?

2. A Husband should make his wife’s well-being of prime importance. Do you think that if a man accepts Christ into his life he will know how to love, protect, provide and care for his wife properly? God will give him the answers he needs.

Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Ephesians 5:22-24

As you can see from scripture, both husband and wife are called to submit. For the wife, this means willingly following her husband’s leadership in Christ. For the husband, it means putting aside his own interests in order to care for his wife properly. This means doing whatever it takes to protect, provide, love, and care for his wife under the “spiritual authority” given to him by God.

If a husband does not accept the “spiritual authority” of God, then he has no justification to think that his wife submit to him the way God intends for a woman to submit to her husband. Obviously they are not basing their love under the foundations of Jesus Christ, but under their own understanding of what they think love is, and this scripture, therefore, does not apply to them.

Here is what couples usually tell me when they are going through difficulties in their marriage. They want to do what is right for their marriage. They are willing to work at the marriage but don’t know what to do about their problems. Their negative feelings bring them down, and they are usually upset and furious over the iniquities and faults of one another.

The problem is couples are basing their marriage upon worldly views, attitudes, and thoughts, and the fact is, as long as they continue to do so, they will continue to have difficulties loving their spouse properly. When we are not motivated by love, we become critical of our spouse. We stop looking for the good things in those we love and only see their faults.

We can all talk about how to love and we know what the bible says about loving our spouse, but what about doing what it says! Bottom line is real love takes effort, and if the willingness is not there to work on marriage and to love our spouse with the love that comes natural, couples will have problems.

The good news is you can love your spouse naturally and wholly by recognizing and utilizing the foundations of God’s design into your relationship and working off of that for your marriage.

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Romans 12:9-13
